Good news for Cyrillic lovers! From now on, Rentafont’s blog has not only articles, but also the albums that are updated every week! rentafont.com.ua/blog/znadibky-istorychni (only on Ukrainian version)

This new section is called “Історичні Знадібки” because it consists of the best edited materials from Шрифтові знадібки (історичні) Facebook group, which is already known to many Ukrainian designers.

Here you can see collections of works by Ukrainian typographers and graphic artists of the 20th century in different styles: Ukrainian Baroque, Art Nouveau, Art Deco, Constructivism, Modernism, Brutalism etc. These examples of the Ukrainian Cyrillic that was hardly influenced by the reform of Peter I in 1708–1710 are useful for those who study Cyrillic in its entirety.

Heorhiy Narbut, 1919.

All the pictures for “Історичні Знадібки” are collected by Ukrainian type designer Marchela Mozhyna. Editor of the section is Yevgen Sadko.

I have a dream that one day, font designers will be able to join hands with font users as sisters and brothers.
